Giveaway: Snailax SL-236 Air Compression Shiatsu Neck and Back Massager – realising my 5 year dream of owning a massage chair at a fraction of the price

True story, 5 years ago my family moved into a bigger home to cater for my expanding family and with that I had a vision to furnish my new home with my wish list of furniture as the new home has more space – a coffee maker, a swing chair and a massage chair. I had brought the first two on my wish list the minute I moved into my new home , but my dream of owning a massage chair remains elusive – partly due to its bulkiness and its immense cost. My friends also advised me against buying as many experienced with the bulky massage chairs being a white elephant and probably piling with laundry ie “storage space” and its leather tearing due to irregular use and wear and tear.

So fast forward today, that one item remained in my wish list as I am unable to come to terms with the cost,  its bulkiness and space consumption. However, finally some semblance of my wish was met with Snailax SL-236 Premium Shiatsu Massager Chair Pad as it solves the two major considerations that stopped me from buying – cost and bulkiness. This costs less than 5% of the high end massage chairs and weighs less than 8kg, which means you have it in your living room while watching TV, in your bedroom for a session before bedtime or even at work on your office chair!

At first sight

It weighs less than 8kg,  I can easily carry it to be placed at any part of the house. Made of PU leather and breathable mesh,  it is not hot even when used in non air-conditioned room. The material is of good quality and durable to wear and tear. It comes with a remote control to manage all your massaging needs which I will go in details later. The cover for the neck is detachable and washable.

Using it

Using the remote control, firstly control the height of the neck massage. And if you need a bit of height, you can easily place a seat cushion on the chair pad to prop you higher. Comprising 4 shiatsu rotation nodes, this provides deep kneading massages to the neck and shoulder.

For the back massager, you can choose between spot (upper or lower) for a more targeted massage or a full back shiatsu massage. Comprising 8 upgraded flexible shiatsu rollers, they deliver relaxing deep tissue massage for the whole back. The shiatsu nodes also come with an optional infrared heat therapy  which helps improve blood flow, delivers gentle warmth to further relax muscles stiffness and back pains. There is also the option of air compression massage to your back as well, so its both air compression plus shiatsu at the same time.

There is a detachable intensity control flap that comes with the massager to give you a softer shiatsu massage, if you want a stronger massage, you can remove the flap entirely.

detachable intensity flap

The seat massager comes with air compression and vibration seat massage to help to relief your muscles. There are 3 level of air pressure and 3 levels of vibration intensity to choose from.

It is recommended a continuous massage of 15 minutes per session and not more than 3 sessions per day.

Loving it

I can’t afford to have a full body massage at the massage centre daily but now I can have my massage every day at the comfort of home or even during my lunch break on days when I work from home.

You can also have also have it in a reclined position. As I have propped my massager on my reclining sofa bed, this allow me to have it at different gradient for a more relaxing massage.

Combining with my air compression leg massager from their sister brand Comfier (review post here), I got almost a full body massage (neck, shoulder back, lumber, thigh, leg, feet and calf combining both massager together) probably almost close to the enjoyment of a full high end massage chair  (I suppose only the arm that is left out) and the best part you can prop it on any chair – sofa, recliner, couch, dining chair and even on your office chair.

Priced a small fraction of a full fledged massage chair, I can almost say the level of intensity is no less than that of a full fledged massage chair. For those of you like me dreams of owning a massage chair at home for the longest time, but unwilling to spend so much or have the space at home for it, this is the truly the best alternative. And if you want a full body, then add on the Comfier air compression leg massager (purchase link here

All massager come with 30 days unconditional return, 90 days refund/replacement if product breakdown and 24 month warranty. Priced at a very affordable SGD238, this is a small amount in comparison to the full fledged massage chair found in the market.

If you would like to give it a try on demo units before purchasing, do contact Shulan at 91134943, they are located at Orchard Centrepoint, Mon-Fri 9am to 6pm, Sat & Sun on-demand basis between 10am to 5pm on appointment basis only.

Royal Eternity Tea House 洛吟茶事 , a sanctuary and an event space like no other

For 1 hour at Royal Eternity Tea House 洛吟茶事, I have completely forgotten that I am in the middle of the hustle and bustle of city centre and transported to a sanctuary unlike anything I have experienced in Singapore and savouring the highest quality tea with my girlfriend. Tea plantation and teahouses are always in my itinerary when I travelled to China and Taiwan as the tranquility is unparalleled and this short respite cured a bit of my travel lust albeit a short 1 hour.

The space
Before partaking in tea making, I had a quick tour of this elegantly designed event space and tea house perfectly suited for your intimate events. The space comprise 5 type of room sizes (for 2 to 12 pax) complete with wifi, tv screen, projector, wine cooler,  sound system, plush sofa and a wide variety of tea to choose and savour (additional charges applied).

There are 2 common rooms at the ground floor and 3 private rooms on the first floor which spots modern and chic design with hints of oriental decors and Chinese art. The booking fee for the private rooms is from $150 to $250 per hour, minimum 2 hours.  With the new normal of 8-pax gathering, this intimate and elegant venue has been hosting many solemnisation events. Besides that, you can romantic dates, business meetings (they also have license to sell wine and alcohol) , corporate events, school events to learn tea making and learning Chinese arts and culture, part of heritage tours, or a date with girlfriends etc.

Level 1 Glass Room – $99 per hour minimum 2 hours

Level 1 Royal Meeting Room – $150 per hour, minimum 2 hours

Level 2 Master Room – $250 per hour, minimum 2 hours

Level 2 Central Meeting Room – $150 per hour, minimum 2 hours

Level 2 room with sofa – $160 per hour, minimum 2 hours

Even if you have no event but wish to savour some good tea in this sanctuary, with any purchase of the tea on their menu, you have a 45-minute session to enjoy with your companion which was what I did today. It costs $28 per pax inclusive of tea, and for up to 6 pax hosted in the beautiful glass room.

Tea making experience

I am not a connoisseur but I love drinking Chinese tea  purely for the enjoyment and also its health benefits  – risk of cardiovascular disease, diabetes, weight loss and many more.

In the universe of Chinese tea there are six basic types of Chinese tea: green, white, yellow, red, oo long and dark tea (puerh, pu’er). At Royal Eternity Tea House, they carry 4 types of teas – white (bai cha), red (hong cha), oolong and pu-er tea to their guests to choose from which retails from SGD 58 to 68.

You can also prearranged titbits and small bites with tea house to accompany the tea savouring enjoyment prior to visiting the tea house.

We had the privilege of Xiao Yu, a tea expert from China making us a decadent cup of tea and seeing how deftly she soaked the tea leaves and prepared cup after cup.

We had hong cha (red tea) which was according to Xiao Yu the mildest variant of tea , well-known as an afternoon tea for its mellow and sweet flavor. It is so mild that it will not cause insomnia if drank at night. I love the smoothness and sweet and floral taste, perfect after a heavy meal too!  We had a very enjoyable afternoon tea experience, perhaps some variety of light snacks readily available for ordering like pastry or puff will have it a more wholesome experience as I savour my tea. That said, many of their guests come to savour tea after their heavy meal.

Whether you have an intimate event to host, and would have time to slow down life and savour the highest quality Chinese tea made by a tea making expert like Xiao Yu, this is one venue that I recommend you to check out.

For bookings, feel free to drop them a call or text at 8950 7529. You can enjoy a 12% discount for any room booking who by quoting my name  “JaimeChan” when you call or email royaleternity2018@gmail.com.

Ultrasound EMS Body Slimming Massager Anti-Cellulite Fat Burner from Fresh Dailies – the ideal home slimming, toning and massaging companion

Slimming done at the comfort and home and anytime and as many times as you wish the day without spending thousand at the beauty salon, I am sold! Even with exercising, the fat in some areas – like belly, waist, arms, back, hips, and thighs – is stubborn. Just exercising and eating healthy may not help. This is where body-sculpting devices or cavitation machines come into the picture. These are non-invasive and painless devices that use heat and sound waves to burn fat, reduce cellulite, and tighten loose skin.

With Ultrasound EMS Body Slimming Massager Anti-Cellulite Fat Burner , you can literally massage any part of your body – arms, waist, abdomen, hip, foot , legs, face , neck!

Featuring 3 main functions:

Ultrasonic Cavitation

Ultrasound waves are sent deep into the layers of your skin, causing a disruptive vibration. Fat cells then break apart from each other and are dislodged from your dermal layers. After a few days, the fat cells are absorbed by your lymphatic system and drained as waste from your body.

Infrared Therapy

The carbon fibre bundle around the main device to generate far infrared ray with the wavelength ranging 8 -12μm. It can penetrate into deep skin and subcutaneous tissues, boost vigour of skin, activate cells and accelerate metabolism. Quickly and effectively relieve fatigue and reduce chronic back pains, inflammations and other sort of body aches. It is safe, natural, non-invasive and painless.

Microcurrent EMS

Strengthens the activation of fibroblasts, improves cell permeability, accelerates the growth of proteins to produce elastic fibers and promotes the mechanical movement of muscles. Creates vibration at the speed of 1,000,000 times per second, which can disrupt the fat cells that are causing the cellulite to appear. Stimulating muscular movement can consume fat, sugar and carbohydrate of surrounding tissue to achieve the effect of weight loss. Under normal movement, muscle may consume 60-70 joule energy per second, but under high frequency movement, muscle can consume 3000-4000 joule energy per second.

With 5 Modes of EMS (Tapping, Massage, Knead, Scrapping, Slimming) , 5 intensity selection, choose one that make you feel comfortable and if your tolerance gets higher, you can up the intensity. Using this device regularly helps relax your muscles, burn fat, and contour your body.

How to use?

This is how you use it at home. Always cleanse you skin before application. After turning on the power, wait till red light blinks. There are 2 level of intensity – low and high. For face use only the low intensity while high intensity are used for other parts of the body such arms and legs. You can use any skin cream or body shaping cream or the recommended aloe vera gel.

I totally loved the convenience of using this device at home. These are some of the benefits when use over time.

  • Brightens skin tone
  • Eliminates fine lines, wrinkles, and dark circles
  • Lifts saggy and loose skin
  • Eliminates stretch marks and scars
  • Removes stubborn fat and cellulite
  • Reduces puffiness
  • Tightens sagging skin

Ergoworks – Ergo-Stars Healthy Kids Desk and Chair ES-8803-GY accompanying my child’s growth through his schooling years

Without a doubt this will be the biggest ticket item, you will buy for your primary school child would be an ergonomic table. With his older siblings having their own study table and space, small J now currently in primary 2 should also be encouraged to have a proper table and space for his increasing demands of school work and also one that will cater to his growing years.

this was his desk and chair previously, which is not ergonomic at all

The single most important question for most parents, is there a need to spend on an ergonomic table? For me personally, I see it as a long term investment, the ergonomic table and chair will see your child all the way to secondary school and beyond as the table and chair will “grow” with the child.  While we can’t change the chairs that are used in school or the demands of a computer era, I can provide a more ergonomic-friendly environment for my children at home.

The term “ergonomics” comes from the Greek words ergon (meaning “work”) and nomos (meaning “rule”) and is defined as the science of human work. In order to safeguard children’s health and ensure they learn well, rather than have them adapt to their furniture, their furniture should adapt to them.

The diagram below shows how an ergonomic table will help in creating a good and correct posture as compared to fixed height table and chair. They should not be leaning over excessively or have a rounded neck while they are seated at a desk. Ideally, the seated posture for kids follow a ‘90-90-90 degrees rule.

Even if the table and chair is at the correct height, once the child grow, you will need to change another set else creating a wrong posture. This problem is cleverly resolved with ergonomic table and chair which height can be easily adjustable.

I have been using Ergoworks ergonomic school bags for the past 6 years for all my school going kids and I can vouched to its good quality and durability. These are my ergonomic bags review post for the past 6 years , post 1, post 2 and post 3

When I decided to source for an new ergonomic table and chair set for my third child, I didn’t need to look any further as I trust their quality and make as I have been using their products for the past 6 years.

A bit about Ergoworks

They are Asia leading brand in holistic ergonomic, posture care, and wellness solutions for the past 16 years. They offer an extensive range of high-quality, comfortable, and user-friendly ergonomic products, which is renowned for its functional features, health benefits, and professional services delivered to our customers. They provide total wellness and comfort to a diverse range of users across all age groups who desire maximum care for their body structure and posture. Their extensive range of products is professionally endorsed and recommended by both The Chiropractic Association (Singapore) and the Singapore Physiotherapy Association.

The set I chose for small J is ERGOSTARS – ES-8803-GY – Grey Healthy Kids Desk And Chair Set

Ergonomic features:

A good set of ergonomic furniture is one where the child sit with the feet supported (on ground or foot rest) and their knees forming at 90 degree. With incorrect posture, it will lead to all kinds of pains – abnormal bone growth, abnormal breathing, poor circulation, digestive issues, headaches and back and neck pain. By practising ergonomic from an early age, this will ensure good posture as they grow older.

The table’s height can be adjusted from 58 cm to 80 cm.The table should not be too high, otherwise they will be resting their hands awkwardly on the
table and putting unnecessary stress on them. If the table is too low, they will be leaning forward too much and more likely to round their necks or hunch their backs.

When adjusting the table’s height, make sure your child’s feet are supported, meaning that your child’s feet should touch the ground. If it is not possible, consider buying an ergonomic foot rest (for the same chair model in this set, the foot rest come attached to the ergonomic foot rest as well). The adjustment to the table height is a very simple process using the detachable lever handle.

Beside table height adjustment, ergonomic table also feature a desk that tilts. This minimises the kids natural inclination to lean forward when writing or drawing, as it allows the desk to be brought closer to them. Desktop tilt angle adjustment is from 0 to 25 degrees to eliminate slouching and strain in neck and to cater to different tasks, such as reading, writing or drawing, as it requires a different angle for the posture (0-5°  for drawing and similar activities ,approx. 10° for writing, 20°-25° for reading). Adjusting this angle depending on the task will provide your child with a better neck position, which will result in less tiredness and stress.

Extra features:

Based on personal experience, you should try to get an ergonomic table with a spacious functional integrated bookshelf. Else you have books pilling up messily or you need to buy book rack to organise the books. A study table need shelves for all the books, stationery etc else you will need another dedicated book shelf etc.

integrated book shelf  (to me, this is a must have)

more storage

The surface non reflective prevents light and sun rays from reflecting into the child eye. With the light from the desk light reflected the light rays into the eyes can increase risk of astigmatism, myopia etc.

The table edges are design to be child safe with rounded edge bumper. Some other additional features to this table is the easy mobility ,accessible  stationery storage , bag hanger , wrist support pad that holds book and laptop and you can request for tablet/book holder as well (additional charges applied).

rounded edges

stationery storage

bag hook

tablet/book holder (additional charges applied)

Certified E1 European Safety Standard, the sets are assemble locally with high quality parts sourced overseas, desk board- European standard MDF (Medium Density Fibreboard) & quality powder coated cold-rolled steel, PP & ABS plastic.

Ergonomic chair

The DUOREST DR-289SR Junior Collection Ergonomic Chair  is based on Original Germany Patented Design & Technology. Its dual backrests design is professionally endorsed and recommended by both Singapore Physiotherapy Association & The Chiropractic Association of Singapore. The dual backrest design reduces pressure on the spine, follows the curvature of the spine naturally.

This chair features adjusted to the seat depth and back rest, seat height adjustment but up to 90kg in weight. The height adjustment is similar to that with the table. If the chair is too high, they won’t be able to rest their feet flat on the floor, applying excess pressure to the back of their thighs. If the chair is too low, this puts them at an awkward position and causes unnecessary strain on their knee joints.

The best part I totally loved is the detachable circular type foot rest which is removable when the kid’s feet can touch the ground.  Instead of getting a separate foot rest, this is attached to the chair itself – ingenious!

It is made of high density form to provide constant good support, high quality fabric materials to last many years, industrial grade steel & PP plastic parts, ISO certified environment friendly manufacturing facility and class 4 high quality gas cylinder for 100% safety and durability.

Beware of copies outside of Ergoworks, as they are the only company selling DUOREST in South East Asia market.

The ES-8803 table model comes with blue, pink and grey. As for the DUOREST DR-289SR chairs, it comes in blue, pink and green. I chose the combination of grey table and green chair for  a more corporate look and a more gender neutral colour which will look less kiddish as the kid grow older. Buying it as a set will also be entitled to a free gift  Philips LED Eye Care study lamp (worth $79 ) and a Made In Germany Floor Protection Mat  (worth $129 and for prevention against possible scratches & better hygiene). This value bundle set is a complete set up for the children study ergonomic workstation, value for money and hassle free for all parents.

free: floor protection mat

The prices quoted on the website includes 7% GST, delivery (no stair case charge) & installation (by our in house logistic and installation team) with no hidden costs or charges. Ergoworks only provides genuine ergonomic products and sincere services to customers as I am their customers for the past 6 years.

All Ergoworks products come with free delivery, installation, responsive and a full suite on-site warranty against manufacturing defects and breakdown (excludes surface wear and tear / abuse) , for this value bundle, the warranty is 3 years.

They have a 3000 square feet full ergonomic concept retail showroom, conveniently located in Marina Square Shopping Mall with friendly and professionally trained Ergonomic Specialists providing correct knowledge and information. Their showroom opens daily (inclusive of public holidays) from 11.30am to 9pm. I would advise to bring your child along to look at the many different models of ergonomic table and chair that they have to find the most suitable model for your long term investment. For picture of their spacious show room, you can see a quick tour here.

Comfier Cordless Air Compression Leg Massager – massage in the comfort of home

Who loves a good leg and foot massage? I will never say NO to a good leg and foot massage any time but often it doesn’t come cheap and you may not even get a slot at the massage centre. After a hard day at work, of having a job which has requires you to stand for long hours or on the move,  or on the flip side, a very sedentary job where you don’t move much,  or ladies who wear high heel shoes,  or fitness buff or sportsmen, this revolutionary  Comfier Cordless Air Compression Leg Massager is a good alternative to a good leg, calf and foot massage without stepping out of your home.

Popular in the US, now the Comfier Cordless Air Compression Leg Massager is being distributed in the Singapore. This is one revolutionary leg/calf/foot massager unseen before in the Singapore market using air compression. instead of the typical bulky shiatsu leg massager.

An air compression leg massager helps stimulate blood and lymphatic circulation in your legs by applying pressure to them.  The massager wraps around your legs, calves and feet and compresses them like a pair of tight boots. Once you wrap it around your leg, it starts to inflate and deflate rapidly in varying pressure and intensity  on your muscles. By squeezing your legs, sufficient pressure is applied to flush out waste from the cells in your legs and feet. This lets fresh blood enter and nourish those cells with oxygen and nutrients. The pressure also releases endorphins, which act as natural painkillers.

At first sight

The pair of leg massagers is definitely less bulky that regular shiatsu leg massager that you often seen in Singapore and you can actually wear them just like ski boots and move around the house too as it weighs only 2.68 pounds.

It features an adjustable velcro patch to change the size to suit different people using breathable mesh fabric which is comfortable and durable to wear and tear.

There are ZERO cord, as each control device is attached to each of the leg massager, hence you do not have any dangling cords connected to control device at all , making this device sleek and mobile.

Using it

I love how easy it is to charge the pair of leg massagers, using USB cables to phone adapters or even with your laptop. For a full charge, it takes less than 3 hours. Thereafter, a full charge can last 1.5 hours or 10 session of 15 minutes massage (limit set for each session as it will auto switch off). The pair of massagers come with 3 auto massage modes, 3 level of massage intensity  and 2 level of heat settings for you to choose you preferred setting

This is designed with all-around bags squeezing and massaging thoroughly from calf to ankles and then to toes. They are also has as heat function on the sole of the feet to ease tired & aches foot muscles. The heat therapy helps improve blood circulation, alleviate body fatigue and promote better sleep.

Loving it

I love the compression works all the way to the calf area. Especially for aging women who are prone varicose veins, this ensure circulation all the way till below the knee level giving you the perfect foot, calf and leg massage.

I cannot rave enough how sleek and mobile this design is, though while you massage, it is not recommended for you to move around or do your house chores, however if there is ever a need arise to move from your comfortable and relaxing position, you easily walk in them without the need to uncord or unhook anything.

I totally love the compression and heat therapy and convenience of doing the massage at any part of my house – while watching TV at the living room, on my bed watching my K-drama or even sitting besides by kids while they are doing their homework!

All massagers come with 30 days unconditional return, 90 days refund/replacement if product breakdown and 24 month warranty. Priced at a very affordable SGD168 for a pair of leg massagers, this is a small investment for better health.

You can order your one of a kind leg/calf massagers using this link

Learning Beautiful Singapore – learn coding without screen in the comfort of home

Coding has been one of the more popular enrichment classes in the recent decade. Benefit of coding are aplenty –  promotes logical thinking , help in creativity, perseverance , improve communication skills , problem solving skills.

However, most if not all coding classes entail looks at the screen though some programming language Scratch etc. So when there was a beautiful home learning wooden kit that is developed at MIT and tested in Montessori classrooms, to teach children ages 3 to 9 computer science without screen, I was most intrigued to try this with my younger boys. With the use of this kit, the children are introduced to computational thinking without computers.

My eldest did a term of coding through primary school, my no 2 has done it for a holiday camp before but my younger 2 boys have little idea what is coding is about. With a full weekly schedule for my 4 kids – sports, music,  art, enrichment there is simply no time to add on coding to their enrichment classes but it is definitely on my wish-list if the kids or myself can afford the time, typically on during the school holidays if any.

Very often myself as a parent lack the resources nor strategies to teach computer science or coding as I am not an IT graduate. With the Learning at Home set, I can now confidently plan and engage my younger two boys to explore the world of coding and computer without the use of screen- introducing many concepts such algorithm, binary, encryption, pattern and mapping.

I totally love the idea how such simple and beautiful hands on materials ,  marrying Montessori Methods,  this kit can break down fundamental of computational thinking to be simple enough for me to guide and teach and to be understood by children as young as 3 years old.

Let us explore what is in this Learning at Home Set comprising 3 books and 4 tactile sets.

1. Binary Tree Playbook

Exploring the concept of binary and exponential growth, even as an adult who is not in the IT field, I may vaguely understand this but how do I explain it to the kids at their level of understand. This beautifully illustrated book did just that bringing the concept of binary and exponential growth to kids as young as 3. I must say my 8 and 10 years understand it more easily than my 6 year old but I have definitely i prefer money that grow exponentially than linearly.

2. Binary Tree

To further enhance this concept, what better than hands- on activities and this beautifully crafted binary tree did just that and more. Starting from a single trunk to 2 branches, which gave 4 branches, then to 8 branches – this exponential growth concept cannot be better illustrated than when building this binary tree.

3. Pixel Board Playbook

This play book gives a good introduction to the concept of pixels and computer representing images with numbers. Thereafter, using the pixel cork boards, you can follow the design cards to form the images or even create your own images .

4. Small Pixel Board

More suited for younger kids , this 4×4 pixel cork board, allows children to place white tiles (represented by 0) and black tiles (represented by 1)  into the pixel boards. After finishing the design cards, children are encouraged to try to create own images too!

5. Medium Pixel Board

For older children, this gives a higher level of difficulties but also more room for creativity as there are more empty squares to build a more refined image. Comes with its own set of design cards as well to build according to given codes.

6. Alphabet cards

There are many ways to play this  -matching, classification  (the first chapter of science in primary 3!) or even sorting algorithm (which is the core of coding). All these activities are guided in The Learning at Home Handbook.

7. The Learning at Home Handbook

Consisting many activities using of the above tactile sets and playbooks, this handbook also introduces new concept like mapping, grid coordinates and polar coordinates which are all fundamental concepts to computational thinking.

My younger children from 6 to 10 years old do not have much coding experiences, so I am surprised how easily they get to learn abstract concepts like binary, exponential growth, pixel, etc through the playbooks and tactile sets.  I love that I can be their teacher to engage them on concepts that I am not familiar with personally, all thanks to this home kit and with zero screen time.

This is one beautiful home learning kit like no other and one of its kind introducing coding to young children (recommended age 3 to 8 years old)  without the use of computer. This set is available at www.learningbeautiful.com.sg , get 15% OFF when you sign up for their newsletter with free shipping.

There are also many free home based activities to download from their website too. https://www.learningbeautiful.com/learning-at-home

All-in-One facial beauty device by Fresh Dailies – for all skin types and needs

I love beauty devices, frankly I owned many and most of them don’t come cheap. When I discovered super affordable beauty devices at the fraction of the prices of other established brands and yet boasting multiple functions from Fresh Dailies , I don’t mind trying it out.

Fresh Dailies recognises the busy working professional and working woman or even stay at home who do not have luxury of time for frequent salons. And every salon visit also don’t come cheap even if you sign up a package and it is a never ending package (trust me, I have many packages).

Hence, Fresh Dailies, offer their customers the best body, hair and skin heroes by purveying varied beauty products from multiple places and presenting them to their customers at the lowest possible prices.  With working from home probably a main stay, some self care routine at home with home based devices may be just the way to pamper ourselves and for #selfcare.

Anti-Ageing Skin Lifting RF & EMS Beauty LED Photon Home Beauty Handheld Device

Yes I know it is a mouthful but this is one beauty product to meet all your skin needs as it has microcurrent, photo therapy, RF, facial cleanser and inductor all-in-one.  Let us explore the functions one by one in order of usage.

Deep clean (use with toner on cotton pad)

it gave a warm sensation that helps to promote absorption, increase elasticity and make the skin plump. The dirt in the deep holes will be thoroughly cleaned with the current being able to penetrate into the lower layers of the skin.

Activation (with serum, cream)

This mode emits red LED light (640 – 650nm). It is slightly warmer than the deep clean mode at 42℃ warmth. It helps to activate our skin cell and rejuvenate collagen production and especially as we age and showing signs of sagging skin and wrinkles,  this mode will help to restore skin elasticity .

Essence-in (used with facial mask)

Using Tri-colour (Blue, Red, Orange) LED light, this mode is used with the mask on to help in better absorption of the essence from the mask and increase penetration of the goodness of any facial mask that you use.

Acne-T

Using blue LED light (415nm) which is suitable for people with acne condition as the blue light is proven to destroy bacteria that causes acne heals acne. This mode also helps to calm and repair their skin. I don’t have this problem so I skip this mode .

Whitening (serum/cream)

This is my favourite mode of all as it uses orange LED light (600nm) which helps to inhibit the production of melanin to achieve rejuvenated skin and lightening effect especially crucial as we age.

EMS up

Using mildest impulse current anode to soften and discharge grease, this mode can be used after the application of toner or moisturiser.

Eyecare (use with eye cream)

With the warm sensation, this  will relieve and soothe our fatigued eyes, smooth away the dark eye circles. Besides that, it can stimulate blood circulation around our eye area.

For sensitive skin, it is recommended that you use it 1 to 2 times a week. If you don’t have sensitive skin, it is recommended to use it 3 times a week. Each mode is best used for 3 to 5 minutes.

Going into 2021 with Heart Studio

Small C was over the moon when I managed to slot back his favourite class at Heart Studio  in the my kids’ 2021 weekend schedule. He totally loved the first theme of the year, stacked burger!

Over 4 weeks for the first art project of the year, Teacher Jay will introduce all the components of the burgers and the kids will get to choose what ingredients they want to include in their burgers. I realised that the choice of ingredients was very much dependent of what they like to eat. I have seen a burger artwork with zero greens, hence I guess the kid doesn’t like his greens.

I am glad that small C was open to suggestion to include not just ingredients he fancies but some other that he does not eat ie onion and pickles for more colour variety of the entire art work.

This artwork is different from the past as there are lots of cutting after the drawing and painting. After cutting out of all the ingredients, now it was time to stack them on a black paper/background and you see all the colours and components popped up! I think this is my  favourite Heart Studio art piece from small C now!

If you are thinking of adding an art class for your child, I cannot recommend Heart Studio enough as I can see a different small C whenever he is drawing and painting at Heart Studio

pineappletart.com can’t get any fresher or homemade than this! #freshfromtheoven

For a baking noob like me, every Chinese New  Year I will buy from bakers / shops for my own consumption and also for gifting. In the past, when there were CNY fairs to sell their new year goodies, I will also go around trying  and sampling from different shops/bakers as I personally  loved pineapple tarts especially the open face version as that was the only type that my mum baked during CNY growing up.

I tried 5 types of CNY goodies from pineappletart.com , some are best sellers and some are the one I personally fancy.  All CNY goodies and cookies from pineappletart.com are 100% handmade with zero preservatives added. This was how pineappletart.com started to fulfill Mdm Teo’s long lost dream of owning her own bakery.

First up to be reviewed , would be the one I grew up eating which is closer to my heart.

Nyonya Pineapple Tart

I actually preferred the Award Winning Melt-in-Your-Mouth Pineapple Tart over this version even though most instances I would prefer the open face as I grew up eating this version. I felt that the combination of crust and pineapple paste really what I really fancy –  a tad dry, but I love the higher proportion of pineapple paste vs tart.

Award Winning Melt-in-Your-Mouth Pineapple Tart

I can’t believe I actually love this version over the open face version. No wonder it is award winning as everything was perfect, size of tart, the proportion of pineapple paste to crust etc. I hate it when I had to take 2 mouthful for those who made it as big as golf balls and hence risking crumbs. I just love this , just 1 mouthful for every tart – perfection in every mouthful.

Kueh Bangkit – Gula Melaka

I chose this over their award winning melt in your mouth kueh bangkit as I have never tried gula melaka variant before ever hence, I knew I would want to order this to try.  It is not as melt in your mouth like typical kueh bangkit probably due to the addition of gula melaka but it was so fragrant and so unique. I totally enjoyed this despite it not as melt in your mouth of its original version , even my husband says they are so fragrant. Love the peranakan twist to this! A must to order for kueh bangkit lovers!

Green Pea Cookie

This is one of my favourite CNY cookies as I loved to snack green peas – green peas are my favourite snack of all time. Hence it is not difficult to see why I love this cookie. Just like the award winning melt in your mouth pineapple tarts, I just love their sizing. Just 1 mouthful for each tart, no crumbs on the table or floor too! And this is so addictive, impossible to stop at 1.

Premium Spicy Hae Bee Hiam Roll

This is not my favourite but my kids favourite, yes my kids can take very spicy food and this is their absolute must-have for CNY. It is fresh made and definitely crunchy, super addictive, you cannot stop at 1!  I wish it was a bigger tub for the 4 of them – super fresh and I don’t find it overly spicy perfect for kids and people who cant take too spicy.

There are many bakeries out there but I can attest this is #freshfromtheoven and homemade just like the ones my mum used to bake for me growing up. And they don’t skimp on their cookies as they are filled to the brim of the bottle and no missing spaces ( it is missing 1 cookie  in the pic as I ate it before I took this photo).

Do check out their website as the stocks are running down quite quickly as it is just 1 month more to CNY!

Sudio NIO – affordability without compromising quality, comfort or connectivity – time to experience #sudiomoment

I have a big fan of Sudio and had own many Sudio wireless earphones. It was Sudio that introduce me to the world of wireless earphones. This time I will be reviewing the Sudio NIO earphones. Undeniably one of the best wireless earphones makers currently, come the latest SudioNIO for those who value superb sound quality, versatility and high-comfort fit at a comfortable price.

At first sight

What is also  unique about this latest edition is a new colour – their newest neutral hue colour: Sand.

Why Sand? Sand is solid, versatile, and light perfectly representing Sudio NIO’s sound performance with flexibility and inclusivity.

The latest design also features detachable wing tips with 4 sizes for custom fit for any ear. I must say the fit of this pair is the best among the many pair of Sudio that I own.

A quick side comparison of the charging case vs ETT and TOLV,  NIO’s charging case is clearly more compact than latter.

Using it

Just like the Sudio ETT and TOLV, it is an automatic switch on and pairing upon removal from case – gone are the days you need to click to pair it with your phone. NIO offers up to 5.5-hour play time that can be extended for up to 20 hours with the charging case.

It also offer reliable IPX4 rated protection which means the music is uninterrupted even with presence of sweat or rain, making NIO perfect for commuters, runners, and music lovers.

Loving it

The sound quality is amazing as always, even though I am not an audiophile, I can definitely tell a good and crisp sound streaming to my ears! The audio quality of Sudio products has always been its selling point and of course its nifty design –  fashionable and functional! You have to own a pair to truly appreciate Sudio at its best.

And this is truly made for the cost conscious consumers who still need good sound quality, as the pricing is most affordable of the entire range of Sudio wireless earphones without compromise to the sound quality, make or seamless pairing.

There is no better time to invest in a pair of wireless earphones from  Sudio especially if you have been holding out due to price. Frankly, holding it next to ETT or TOLV I cant really tell price wise which is the cheapest.

As always, all Sudio wireless earphones comes with 3 years international warranty with all products on the websites, free shipping and no questions asked.

Sudio NIO comes in 4  colours – black, white, green, and sand

Quote mypreciouzkids15 for 15% off,  Sudio NIO is priced at SGD119 after using discount code, it will be at SGD101.15. What a steal especially if this is your first Sudio ! Stay tune for their launch on 11 January.
